Why Planterra exists
Because "put it where it looks nice" wasn't working — and every other plant app gave the same generic advice.
Whenever we brought a new plant home, the placement question was basically vibes. Living room shelf? Kitchen windowsill? The corner where the ficus already sits? We picked whatever looked good, then wondered why some plants sulked while their identical twin two rooms over thrived.
And when a plant did start to struggle, every app we tried defaulted to the same script: adjust watering, check the light. Nothing about the actual symptom we could see. No memory of what we'd tried last week. No sense of what our home actually looks like.
Hiring a plant coach was expensive, and honestly we didn't want someone telling us what to do. We wanted an app we could trust. So we built one.
Our promise
An app that trusts you back.
Planterra isn't a bossy expert. It's a consultant that answers when you ask, and steps back when you don't. It learns from you and gets better with time, instead of nagging you for engagement.
No feeds. No ads. No account required. Your plants live on your device, not in a marketing database. When you export your data, it's yours to keep — and when you delete the app, it's actually gone.
— Made in Munich for plant parents who want to trust their instincts.
